The US Bitcoin Reserve may decrease by 30%

According to market analysts, indicators such as the native LEO token’s upward trend and historical withdrawal patterns from Bitfinex in 2016 point to a plausible scenario: some of the seized Bitcoin holdings may soon flow back into circulation.

RBC‑Crypto estimates that if about 75 000 BTC valued at more than $5 billion were to re‑enter the market over an 18‑month horizon, US reserve totals could shrink by approximately one‑third.

Notably, the US government had earlier confiscated nearly 94 636 BTC, equivalent to $6.5 billion. While a portion of these assets was pledged for LEO buybacks and subsequent token burns, actual disbursements have remained modest to date.

Experts stress that LEO’s pronounced price swings and constrained market liquidity amplify the token’s sensitivity to any announcements about fund returns. Meanwhile, broader market conditions reflect a corrective phase affecting most leading cryptocurrencies in the wake of Bitcoin’s October high.
